Covid update: 115 new cases and no deaths as incidence rates still fall

The Canary Islands have registered 115 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, so that the total accumulated cases in the islands now rises to 54,529 with 2,553 active, of which 61 are admitted to ICU and 223 remain hospitalized, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health.

No Covid related deaths have been reported today, so the total number of deaths in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the pandemic remains at 757, of which 420 have been in Tenerife; 265 in Gran Canaria; 48 in Lanzarote; 13 in Fuerteventura; 6 on La Palma; 4 in El Hierro, and 1 in La Gomera.

The Accumulated Incidence (AI) over 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 39.29 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the AI14 is at 82.08 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. To date, a total of 1,092,470 PCR tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 2,214 correspond to the last 24 hours.

By islands, Tenerife adds 66 new infections with 1,663 active cases; Gran Canaria has 26 more and 645 active; Lanzarote adds 22 new cases with 204 active, and Fuerteventura does not add any new infections and still only has 18 active cases on the island. La Palma also adds one new case whereas El Hierro and La Gomera didn’t register any.
