August will end in the Canary Islands with heat, haze, and rain due to the winds coming from Africa, which will raise temperatures to 34°C or more on the slopes of the islands facing south and west, according to the spokesman for the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), Rubén del Campo.
However, tomorrow (Wednesday) storm showers in the western islands are forecast, and on Thursday the temperatures will drop slightly, the haze will subside, while the trade winds will blow with more intensity, causing an ‘African wave’ from the east creating this ‘stew’ of meteorological conditions.
According to the Windy.com forecast, rain storms will appear today (Tuesday) in Tenerife, affecting the interior of the island both on its northern and southern slopes.

Tomorrow the storms are forecast to spread to Gran Canaria, La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma, in addition to Tenerife. Later on in the day and early Thursday, the rains will move westward, affecting the westernmost islands until they enter the Atlantic and leave the archipelago late in the afternoon. Subsequently, no rain is expected on Friday.
