AEMET are warning that a new DANA is approaching the Canary Islands from the northeast, which will leave significant rainfall in the north of the islands from tomorrow (Wednesday) until Sunday, with some showers today in various parts of the islands.
According to the weather patterns, the most rain is expected on the north side of the most mountainous islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and La Palma) on Friday and Saturday as it will be closer to the archipelago, increasing instability and the probability of precipitation.
AEMET meteorologist, Juan Jesús González Alemán, said: “Rain is expected in all of the islands at the weekend if the extratropical trough approaching the archipelago evolves into a DANA (Isolated Depression in High Levels), which will be heavy in the north and in the form of showers in the south.”
