All of the Canary Islands will start this week from today (Monday) with active weather warnings in place from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET). These are orange warnings for heat in Gran Canaria, and yellow warnings in the rest of the islands for high temperatures and also for dangerous coastal conditions.
In addition, a yellow warning was active yesterday for haze in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife, with poor visibility of only 3,000 metres, which finishes at midday today as the haze is lifting. However, the active notices for the coming days, island by island, are as follows:
MONDAY:
Gran Canaria:
Today, the east, west, south and summits of the island have an orange warning for heat, with temperatures of up to 38°C that will especially affect inland areas. It will be active from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
In addition, in the east, south and west of the island there is a yellow warning, for adverse coastal phenomena. According to the AEMET forecast, a Force 7 northeast wind is expected in the channels between the islands, and in the southeast of Gran Canaria. This notice will be active from 8:00pm on Monday until 11:59pm.
Tenerife:
In the north of the island there will be a yellow warning for heat with temperatures that will reach 34°C, especially in central and high areas of the island. In the south, west and east of the island, temperatures will reach 36°C. This notice will be active from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
In addition, another wave warning will be active from 10:00am to 11:59pm, as the same Force 7 wind will affect the channels between the islands and the entire coast of Tenerife itself.
Lanzarote:
The island has an active yellow warning for heat from 10:00am to 7:00pm due to temperatures expected to reach 36°C, mainly affecting inland areas of the southern half of the island.
Fuerteventura:
The island has an active yellow warning for heat from 10:00am to 7:00pm due to temperatures expected to reach 36°C, mainly affecting inland areas of the southern half of the island.
La Palma:
The island has an active yellow warning for heat from 10:00am to 7:00pm due to temperatures expected to reach 34°C in the east of the island, mainly affecting the middle and high areas. In the west temperatures can reach 36°C, especially on summits.
In addition, there is a yellow warning from 8:00pm to 11:59pm due to big waves, as the Force 7 wind is expected to affect the west coast of the island.
El Hierro:
The island has an active yellow warning for heat from 10:00am to 7:00pm due to temperatures expected to reach 36°C, mainly affecting inland and high areas.
In addition, there is a yellow warning from 8:00pm to 11:59pm due to big waves, as the Force 7 wind is expected to affect the southwest coast of the island.
La Gomera:

WEATHER WARNINGS FOR TUESDAY IN THE CANARY ISLANDS:
Gran Canaria:
Tomorrow (Tuesday) the orange weather warning for extreme temperatures will continue to be active on the island, as they are forecast to reach 38°C in the east, west, south and summits of the island, from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
In addition, in the east, south and west of the island there is another yellow warning, in this case due to adverse coastal conditions. According to the AEMET forecast, the northeasterly Force 7 wind is expected to continue on the west and southeast coasts with a warning in place from 12:00am on Tuesday until 4:59am.

In the north of the island there will be a yellow warning for heat with temperatures that will reach 34°C, especially in the middle and high areas of the island. In the south, west and east of the island, temperatures will reach 36°C. This notice will be active from 10:00am to 7:00pm.
In addition, another wave warning will be active from 12:00am to 5:59am as the Force wind will affect the northwest and southeast coast of the island.
