Following the formation of Storm Konrad, which has already brought strong winds to the Canary Islands, and is expected to bring rain and frost to parts of the archipelago tomorrow (Saturday), the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has announced the imminent arrival of another powerful Atlantic storm, named Laurence.
“A new storm will begin affecting us from Monday, bringing rain to large areas of the islands again,” AEMET stated on the social media platform X. Laurence is the twelfth major storm of the season that is forming and heading to the Iberian Peninsula.
Weather Forecast for the Canary Islands
According to AEMET’s forecast for the next few days, the Canary Islands will experience similar weather patterns to much of this week. While it is still early to make precise predictions, there is a strong possibility of rain on Monday, particularly affecting Tenerife, the western islands, Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote during the first half of the day.
Fuerteventura is the only island, at the moment, that is expected to avoid rain, but the forecast could easily change over the weekend.
Regarding temperatures, minimums are expected to rise slightly, while maximum temperatures will remain largely unchanged at between 20 to 23 degrees Celsius depending on where you are.
