AEMET puts three Canary Islands on yellow weather warnings this weekend

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued several yellow weather warnings today (Thursday) that will affect three Canary Islands this Friday and Saturday, for strong winds that will affect areas of Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

Tenerife:

The weather warning begins at 10:00am on Friday, February 9th, and will be active until 6:00pm on Saturday (February 10th). It will mainly affect the north and northwestern area of ​​the island, where maximum gusts of 80km/h are expected, as well as very strong gusts from the northwest that will affect the central peaks and may reach 100km/h.

Lanzarote:

The weather warning begins at 10:00am on Friday, February 9th, and will be active until 5:00pm on the same day. It will affect the entire island, where maximum gusts of 70 km/h are expected, with very strong gusts from the west, mainly affecting the northeastern slopes, without ruling them out in inland areas of the island.

Fuerteventura:

In the same way as Lanzarote the weather warning begins at 10:00am on Friday, February 9th, and will be active until 5:00pm on the same day. It will affect the entire island, where maximum gusts of 70 km/h are expected, with very strong gusts from the west, mainly affecting the northeastern slopes, without ruling out them in the interior of the island.
