AEMET has activated yellow weather warnings in the Canary Islands for Tuesday

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has activated yellow weather warning for “coastal phenomena” in the Canary Islands from tomorrow (Tuesday), affecting the west of La Palma, La Gomera, and possibly Tenerife, and the whole of El Hierro.

Big waves, deep swells, and strong currents are expected meaning many red flags on beaches and people are advised not to go into the sea or natural pools in these areas.

The weather forecast for today shows that there will be some clouds around with scattered showers in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, especially this afternoon, but clearer with sunny intervals in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

No significant changes are expected during the day regarding temperatures, with a light to moderate wind from the northeast and sunset at 7:05pm.

More rain is expected in the western islands tomorrow during the weather warnings.
