AEMET forecasts more rain in the Canary Islands this Tuesday

The Canary Islands will experience persistent cloudy skies and light rainfall on Tuesday, according to the latest forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

In addition to rain, northwesterly swells of 2 to 3 metres are expected at sea, with stronger winds offshore in the southeast and northwest. The northeast coast will experience moderate breezes with lighter swells.

Island-by-Island Forecast for Tuesday, 4th February:

LANZAROTE:

The northern half of the island will see cloudy skies, which will give way to intervals of sunshine during the middle of the day. Elsewhere, partly cloudy conditions will persist. Temperatures will remain stable or see a slight decrease in maximums. Moderate northeast winds will strengthen in the afternoon.
Expected temperature range: 15°C – 22°C.

FUERTEVENTURA:

Cloud cover will be more prominent in the northern half of the island, while the rest will experience partly cloudy skies with occasional sunny intervals. Temperatures will show little variation, and moderate northeast winds will be stronger along the coast.
Expected temperature range:
16°C – 21°C.

GRAN CANARIA:

The northern region will be cloudy with light rain, potentially turning moderate in the midlands, particularly during the early morning and evening. Other areas will have partly cloudy skies with occasional intervals of sunshine. Temperatures will be steady or slightly lower in minimum values. Moderate northeast winds will be stronger along the southeast and northwest slopes and on exposed peaks.
Expected temperature range: 16°C – 22°C.

TENERIFE:

In the north of the island, skies will remain cloudy with sunny spells throughout the day. Light rainfall is possible this evening. The southern slopes will see cloudy intervals, with a low chance of light rain later in the day. The rest of the island will experience partly cloudy conditions.
Light frosts could occur on the highest peaks. Moderate northeasterly winds will bring strong gusts to the southeast and extreme northwest, as well as in northern mountain areas.

17°C – 23°C.
