The Canary Islands will start the weekend with the entire archipelago under a yellow weather warning due to high winds and adverse coastal phenomena, at least today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).
Specifically, the strong wind will affect the east, south and west of Tenerife, the summits of Gran Canaria and La Palma, and the whole islands of La Gomera and El Hierro, with gusts of up to 70 kilometres per hour forecasted.
At the summits of Gran Canaria the weather warning will be active from 5:00pm this afternoon until 11:59pm on Saturday night, and In Tenerife and the western islands from 8:00pm this afternoon until 11:59pm tomorrow night (Saturday).
Sea conditions will be affected by these winds accordingly with large waves, rough seas, and deep swells at coasts. The public are advised to look out for and adhere to warnings and red flags accordingly before going into the water or out onto rocks.
