AEMET activates weather warnings for strong wind and sea conditions

The islands in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro) and the island of Gran Canaria have a yellow warning today (Sunday) due to strong winds and adverse sea conditions, with big waves, strong currents, and deep swells.
As reported by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the warnings will be activated from 3:00pm this afternoon until midnight tonight, although the warning for strong winds will also continue tomorrow (Monday), with the presence of haze.
Regarding the warning for coastal phenomena, a northeast wind of 60 to 71 kilometres per hour (force 7) is forecast, and regarding the wind inland, AEMET foresees maximum gusts of 70 km/h affecting inland and coasts: specifically, to the west and southeast of Gran Canaria; the southeast of Tenerife; east, west and summits of La Gomera; extreme west and southeast of El Hierro; and the northwest and southeast of La Palma.
