AEMET activates 22 weather warnings for extreme temperatures, wind, and haze

AEMET has activated 22 yellow weather warnings in the Canary Islands due to their forecast of abnormally high temperatures for the time of year, as well as haze and wind. Thermometers are expected to touch 34ºC in Gran Canaria tomorrow and 32ºC in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife. In addition, there will be strong winds on the southeast and northwest slopes of the Islands.

Specifically, they have activated yellow warnings in the east, south, and west of Gran Canaria, as well as in Fuerteventura, due to maximum temperatures that could exceed 34ºC. This will be in force from tomorrow, Wednesday, at 12:00pm until Thursday at 10:00am.

In addition, there are also yellow warnings for tomorrow due to maximum gusts of 70 km/h that will affect Gran Canaria, while in the case of La Gomera and El Hierro it could exceed 75 km/h. On Thursday, the warning for strong gusts exceeding 75km/h will also be in force on La Palma.

Likewise, all the Islands will have an active weather warning for haze and suspended dust particles as of Thursday because visibility will be reduced to 3,000 metres.
