A wet Friday with showers across the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are waking up to a wet Friday with showers across the archipelago, which although more intense in the western islands, is expected to clear this afternoon in coastal areas, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

In general it will be cloudy today with intervals of medium and high clouds, with some low clouds in the more mountainous islands during the morning.

However, the AEMET forecast shows no change in temperatures with maximums of 25°C and minimums of 17 degrees and a north wind with occasional very strong gusts in the central peaks of Tenerife. Sunset will be at 8.49pm if you’re planning a Friday night cocktail this evening.

TENERIFE (South):
General: Generally cloudy with occasional showers.
Humidity: 74%
Precipitation: 24% - showers forecast for most of the day.
Wind: Moderate, up to 21km/h from the northeast.
Temperatures: Maximum 24°C and minimum 19°C.

GRAN CANARIA (South):
General: Cloudy and rainy this morning, clearing this afternoon.
Humidity: 70%
Precipitation:
45% - rain this morning and overnight tonight.
Wind: Light, 18km/h from the northeast.
Temperatures: Maximum 25°C and minimum 18°C.

LANZAROTE:
General: A wet start but clearing after lunchtime.
Humidity: 81%
Precipitation: 22% - light
showers this morning.
Wind: Light, 14km/h from the north.
Temperatures: Maximum 23°C and minimum 16°C.

FUERTEVENTURA:
General: Cloudy with sunny spells and light winds.
Humidity: 79%
Precipitation: 12% - dry during the day,
