A pleasant weekend of heat and light haze is expected in the Canary Islands because, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the heatwave that is hitting Europe is bypassing the Canary Islands due to the trade winds, keeping temperatures to 32°C in the south of Gran Canaria and 30°C in the south of Tenerife.
In the rest of the Archipelago, the thermometers will hardly experience changes, and could even drop slightly in the eastern islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
There are no weather warnings in place so it is perfect conditions for the beach, pool, water park, or boat trip as there will be some clouds in all of the islands and the start of the day, and a light haze that will start to subside from tomorrow afternoon (Sunday).
The wind will be predominantly from the north, being more intense on the northwest and southeast slopes of the most mountainous islands. In the central peaks of Tenerife, a strong southwest wind with occasional very strong gusts will be experienced during the first half of both days.
