The National Police have arrested three men in Veronicas in Playa Las Americas all between 52 and 67 years of age, in possession of 37 wraps of cocaine, 10 wraps of heroin, 20 grams of ecstasy, 4 grams of crack, 16 grams of hashish, 42 grams of marijuana, and hundreds of cylinders of nitrous oxide better known as laughing gas.
All three, who already have police records for drug dealing, shared the tasks of being lookouts and actually selling the drugs and gas canisters, which are inhaled but can cause health problems, from the terrace of a closed restaurant on the seafront side of Veronicas, behind the main entrances to the clubs on the ‘strip’.
Police caught them off guard on the terrace, on Avenida Santiago Puig, at 4am on November 7th (Sunday), and confiscated the narcotics, which were all in wraps prepared to sell, the gas, as well as 480 euros in fractional currency they had on them.
The detainees were all taken to the Tenerife South National Police headquarters, and once the appropriate investigation procedures had been carried out, were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, which ordered two of them straight into prison.
The National Police have active teams across the islands in uniform and undercover to prevent the consumption and sale of narcotic substances.
