It was a year in the waiting but worth every second, as Ritmania Fame Academy from Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife, triumphed in the All Dance Spain competition held online at the beginning of this month. The original competition was due to take place in Tenerife last year before the pandemic struck, so there were many obstacles to overcome.
It certainly wasn´t easy with the waiting, the uncertainty, the anticipation, having to adapt to changing restrictions, and having to alter choreography as some students families headed back to their home countries due to the economic crisis, but it didn´t matter what the year threw at them, they came back even stronger.
Even though they faced these setbacks, Ritmania´s kept positive even though their dance classes had to go online and now they have to dance in masks back in the studio.
With the competition now being online, the youngsters performed in Ritmania’s studios, in masks, some solo, and some in groups with permission from the authorities, and their dedication and perserverance paid as won many of their categories, including:
- Overall Best Dance School
- Open Production of Excellence
- Mina Vernolini, Kodie Gray and Stephanie Chinea won best dancers in their respective age category.
- and Ritmania owners, Carla Guest & Emma Burgess, won Best Directors.
Overall, they were placed first in all genres in different age divisions, of Ballet, Tap, Modern, Commercial, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Lyrical dance, and they will now be representing Spain in ALL DANCE WORLD in Orlando, Florida later in the year.
