A 10-year-old boy was injured yesterday afternoon when he fell from a balcony while heading towards the pool area of a hotel in the south of Tenerife. Emergency services received a call at 6.10pm requesting medical assistance at the hotel for a young boy with a head injury.
Onlookers said that the boy was running towards the pool area when he slipped and fell backwards over a balcony, banging his head on a tiled floor the other side of the balcony.
He was attended to by paramedics who went to the hotel in the municipality of Arona, and assessed his injury before transferring him by ambulance to Hospiten Sur for further treatment.
The latest news from the hospital is that the boy has a ‘moderate head injury’ and is expected to be released from hospital in 48 hours after routine observation.
