Ryanair make emergency landing in Tenerife due to technical fault with plane

A Ryanair plane destined for Dublin had to return to the Reina Sofía International Airport in the south of Tenerife shortly after takeoff yesterday afternoon, to make an emergency landing after detecting a technical problem with the aircraft.

At first, the flight was diverted to the Tenerife North airport, but finally, it was decided to return to the south of the island, where it landed without any problem with airport emergency services on standby in the Tenerife heat.

After landing the passengers were disembarked from the plane without any incident, but Ryanair had to bring over a different plane from Faro in Portugal to take them back to Ireland, causing a delay in their journey, which the company has apologised for.
