TF-1 resurfacing works affect the Tenerife South airport this week

The resurfacing of the TF-1 motorway is continuing in the four kilometre section between the junctions for Los Cardones and the Tenerife South airport in a south direction in the municipality of Granadilla from tonight, Monday.

As always the work is being carried out overnight from 10pm to 6am, and drivers are being requested to be careful if needing to use the airport or go to San Isidro or El Medano as there will be diversions in place until Friday morning, September 10th.

The diversions between Los Cordones and the airport (junction 59) mean that those wanting to head south from San Isidro, El Médano or the Los Cardones area will have to head in the direction of Santa Cruz to the Granadilla industrial estate junction, where they can come off, make a U-turn and rejoin the motorway to go south.

In addition, from Wednesday the airport junction will be closed, so those heading south who want to come off the motorway at the Reina Sofia airport junction will have to continue to the San Miguel, Los Abrigos and Las Galletas junction, where they can make a U-turn there and head back in the direction of Santa Cruz to the junction of the airport.

Likewise, drivers heading south from the airport will have to exit towards Santa Cruz to the Granadilla industrial park to make a U-turn and drive towards the south.

These road works are part of the TF-1 resurfacing plan that has been underway since April to improve 40 kilometres of the road between Adeje and Arico, and are scheduled to last 14 months until August 2022.
