Police interrupted a full blown party on Saturday night at a finca in San Miguel de Abona in the south of Tenerife that had 50 people in attendance with a DJ, full lighting, smoke machines, a bar and even chemical toilets.
When they got there, agents confirmed that no-one was complying with the restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, such as wearing masks, observing social distancing, or taking into account that it had passed curfew time, among others.
As they started to disband the party many of the revellers complained that it was private property and that they weren’t breaking any rules as they were outside not inside, so agents had to point out to them, that yes correct it is private land with all equipment being run by a generator, but that the party was illegal under current conditions as they had no licence for it, and if it is a private property, only four people outside cohabitants can meet.
The acting agents immediately proceeded to dismantle the party, officially identifying and fining the attendees for breaking Covid restrictions, and denouncing and starting sanctions against the organizers for various infractions, which could run into several tens of thousands of euros.
The intervention was carried out by the Guardia Civil of Playa de las Américas, in collaboration with the Local Police of San Miguel de Abona.
