A 28-year-old woman was injured yesterday (Sunday), after a parked bus ‘lost its brakes’ at the bus station in Adeje, in the south of Tenerife. The incident was reported to the Emergency Services Control Centre by several people who said that they witnessed a parked bus, with no driver, suddenly start rolling away from its parking bay, cross the street and knock over the woman.
After being freed from the bus by firefighters, paramedics at the scene of the accident confirmed that the victim suffered a moderate head injury and transferred her to Hospiten hospital for further treatment.
Fortunately, no-one else was injured in the incident, and no other vehicles were damaged as the bus veered across the road.
