The Ministry of Health has announced that they have opened an investigation in the death of the 21-year-old girl on the island of Tenerife, who died at the weekend from coronavirus, without any reported previous pathologies or illnesses.
In a press release, they explained that different factors coincided with the death of the girl that, together with Covid-19, could have influenced the outcome of death in such a young person, so they want to determine the cause of death, and have the family’s permission to do so.
According to the report, the girl caught the virus at a family party in the north of Tenerife, and died yesterday in hospital.

A total of 424 people with coronavirus have died in the Canary Islands, since pandemic began, of which 267 have died in Tenerife, 137 in Gran Canaria, 9 in Lanzarote, 6 on the island of La Palma, 4 in Fuerteventura and 1 in El Hierro.
