Man killed after being run over on the TF-1 motorway in Arona

A male, for whom no further information has been released at this moment in time, died early this morning after being run over on the southbound carriageway of the TF-1 in the municipality of Arona in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (Cecoes).

The tragic incident occurred at around 1am this morning, when the emergency services operating centre received an alert reporting that a man had been run over at kilometre 69 on the TF-1, the southbound exit to Guaza, although there is no information as to why he was crossing the motorway on foot.

The Local Police, who were already in the area, alerted the Coordinating Centre of the seriousness of the accident and the injuries to the man who had been knocked over, and guarded him and controlled traffic until paramedics arrived.

When SUC ambulance staff arrived, they were only able to confirm that the man had died due to his injuries, and also had to treat the driver of the car involved, a 30-year-old woman, who was taken to the Los Cristianos Health Centre for routine observation suffering from shock.
