A man died yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) after being retrieved from the water on Fañabé beach, in Costa Adeje in the south of Tenerife, unconscious and in cardiorespiratory arrest.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received a call at 3:49pm informing that lifeguards from the beach had taken a person out of the sea after he was spotted floating in the water.
CECOES immediately activated the necessary emergency resources, whilst lifeguards verified that the man was in cardiorespiratory arrest and began to practice resuscitation manoeuvres.
On their arrival at the beach, SUC personnel confirmed that the patient remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued to perform advanced CPR, but unfortunately without obtaining a result, and could do nothing more than confirm his death.
