January 5th and 6th are no exception: 10pm curfew and limited meetings apply in Tenerife

The Canary Islands Government extended the health measures in Tenerife until next Sunday, January 10th, with the aim of containing the contagion of Covid-19. That is why on the eve of Kings there is still confusion for the people of Tenerife: is the curfew the same? Is the number of people allowed to meet increased?

According to the Boletin Official of the Canary Islands (BOC), only meetings of a maximum of four people consisting of two groups of cohabitants is allowed. Likewise, the curfew imposed by the Government is from 10:00 pm, both today and tomorrow, January 6th, Dia Del Reyes.

The Kings will be circulating in various municipalities of the island, even though the usual big parades are cancelled, in open top cars or buses, on routes mostly undisclosed, as not to attract crowds.

They will have police assistance, will not be giving out sweets, and the public are advised not to follow or run alongside them, but to watch and wave from their homes.

These two days are the last holidays under the Christmas restrictions in Spain and the Canary Islands, and will be reviewed on Thursday for implementation of the ‘traffic light’ restrictions from Sunday.
