The Department for Roads of the Tenerife Cabildo will resurface four kilometres of the TF-1 motorway in the south this week finishing on Friday September 3rd. The work includes the junctions for the Polígono Industrial de Granadilla, as well as those of CoCarmen-Chimiche and San Isidro.
In a statement, the head of the department, Enrique Arriaga, has asked drivers "to exercise extreme caution in the area" and reminded that all work will be carried out overnight, between 10pm and 6am to affect traffic as little as possible.
The improvement works will focus on the intermediate layer of the road surface in the fast lane and on the inner shoulder by the central reservation, which runs from kilometre point 52.7 to 56.7, removing the previously damaged surface.
Due to diversions, vehicles going southbound that want to access the Granadilla Industrial Park must continue to the San Isidro junction, make a U-turn and return in the direction of Santa Cruz to the destination junction.
Likewise, people who want to go to the airport from the Granadilla Industrial Park should leave in the direction of Santa Cruz to the Chimiche junction, and make a U-turn to go back south.
On Tuesday, vehicles that want to access the Granadilla Industrial Park heading south will have to continue to the Tenerife South airport link and make the U-turn there.
Meanwhile, those driving south who wish to access San Isidro, Granadilla or El Médano, including the CoCarmen Cooperative area, should continue to the airport junction, make a U-turn and return towards Santa Cruz to San Isidro.
On the other hand, vehicles that wish to go from the Granadilla Industrial Park to the airport will have to go to Santa Cruz to the Chimiche junction and make a U-turn.
As of Wednesday, September 1st, those who are travelling south and want to access San Isidro and the CoCarmen Cooperative area must continue to Tenerife Sur airport, make the U-turn and return towards Santa Cruz until the San Isidro junction.
In addition, as the CoCarmen junction will be closed, so those going south from there will have to travel parallel to the highway on the service road and join at the Los Cardones exit.
