Five people have been injured in a collision between a car and a tram at the Zurita bridge close to the Plaza del 29 de Mayo in Santa Cruz this morning (Wednesday), in the capital of Tenerife, according to a press release from the Local Police of Santa Cruz.
The incident took place around 8:00am when emergency services received a call about the accident. SUC paramedics and the Local Police were dispatched and treated the driver of the car and four tram passengers, who all had mild injuries, and were taken to hospital for routine observation.
Tranvía de Tenerife, who operates the trams, has reported on Twitter of a delay on the line due to the accident and that they hope to be back to normal service as soon as possible, adding "We appreciate your understanding," concludes the message.
