The roadworks in Las Chafiras in the south of Tenerife to create a new junction off the TF-1 motorway by Guargacho, are starting to move ahead as the section of the main highway that was bypassed by a new loop so that a tunnel could be built underneath it, re-opens over the weekend.
Work is carrying on continuously through the night, despite the weather, and this evening, Friday 26th November, the southbound carriageway heading towards Adeje is being reconnected, then tomorrow night, Saturday 27th, the northbound one is also being reopened.
However, this means that there will be diversions in place from 10pm until 9am both nights with traffic being taken off the motorway at Junction 62 (Las Chafiras) and Junction 65 (Parque de La Reina) and drivers will have to use the TF-655, so please allow extra time for your journey.
By 9am on Sunday, both carriageways will be fully reinstated and the TF-1 will be back open as normal in both directions.
