Agents of the National Police have arrested 20 people in Tenerife, dismantling a criminal organization dedicated to the trafficking of irregular immigrants and drug smuggling between Morocco and Spain. They transported immigrants from the west coast of Morocco to the Canary Islands in precarious boats in which they also packed with hashish.

The police operation has prevented the imminent departure of a boat in which at least 12 immigrants were ready to travel. The 20 people arrested, 14 of whom are Moroccan nationality and six are Spanish, are charged with crimes of illegal human trafficking, drug trafficking and other crimes against property.
