The National Police has intensified its presence in the main population areas of the island, to enforce continued compliance with the alert level 3 restrictions that Tenerife is currently under, to prevent the spread of Covid-19. During the past week, the National Police have issued 309 sanction proposals for various breaches of the regulations established in those restrictions.
99% of the sanctions and fines are for not wearing a mask and for not respecting the established time limit of the curfew, which in total, amount to 94 and 211 sanctions respectively. By municipalities, the National Police issued 82 sanctions in the capital of Tenerife, 58 in La Laguna, 144 between the municipalities of Adeje and Arona, 10 between the towns of Puerto de la Cruz and Los Realejos, and 15 in the town of Santa Cruz de la Palma.
The actions have been carried out by National Police officers of the Provincial Police Station of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in collaboration with the different Local Police Corps of the municipalities to which they cover.
