Woman seriously injured after falling from the balcony of a second-floor apartment
A 32-year-old woman has suffered serious injuries after accidentally falling from the second floor of a building onto the street in Gran Canaria, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon on Calle Diego de Ordaz, located in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, at approximately 4:35pm.
CECOES received an alert requesting urgent medical assistance for a woman who had fallen from a height onto a public walkway, and dispatched the necessary emergency resources.
SUC paramedics were the first to arrive at the scene of the incident, and immediately treated the women so she could be transferred to the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria by ambulance, where she remains under medical care.
The Local Police and the Guardia Civil attended the scene and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, although early reports indicate the fall was accidental.
