Woman dies after being hit by a car on TF-1 motorway in the south of Tenerife
A 78-year-old woman tragically lost her life last night (Monday) after being hit by a car on the TF-1 motorway in the municipality of Arona in the south of Tenerife.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), the incident occurred at around midnight on the northbound carriageway in the direction of Santa Cruz.
CECOES dispatched the relevant emergency services after receiving an alert that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on the motorway, including a fully equipped medical ambulance and units from the Guardia Civil and the Cabildo’s Road Maintenance Service.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, paramedics could only confirm the woman’s death due to the severity of the injuries sustained in the impact.
Road maintenance workers carried out cleaning operations on the carriageway to restore normal traffic conditions while the Guardia Civil took charge of managing traffic, filed the official accident report, and opened an investigation into why she was on the motorway in the first place.
