A woman and two young children, aged 5 and 7, were injured on Wednesday afternoon after their car overturned in the Barranco de Guayadeque, in the municipality of Ingenio, Gran Canaria.

The incident took place on the GC-103 road near the ravine and was quickly reported to 112, where emergency services were sent out immediately.

Upon arrival, paramedics found that all three occupants had managed to get out of the car without assistance.

The mother and her children were transported to different hospitals based on the nature of their injuries and the specialised care required. This is standard procedure in situations like this, allowing each person to get the right care in the right place as quickly as possible.

The woman was treated at the scene for a moderate head injury and was then transferred by ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria for further evaluation.

The 5-year-old child was also reported to have sustained multiple moderate injuries, while the 7-year-old suffered mild bruising. Both children were taken to the Hospital Universitario Materno Infantil de Canarias in Las Palmas.

Firefighters also attended the scene to secure the vehicle and support medical teams. Officers from the Local Police and Guardia Civil also responded and are now handling the investigation into the cause of the accident.

The exact circumstances surrounding the vehicle’s overturning remain under investigation.
