Huge traffic jams on the TF-1 in the south of Tenerife, were caused by a brush fire that broke out yesterday afternoon (Monday) in the municipality of Arona, near Parque de La Reina.
It produced a large column of smoke that affected visibility on the TF-1, leading to several calls being made to 112 to alert the emergency services.
The dense smoke reached the TF-1 motorway, one of the island’s main arterial roads, causing concern for driver safety due to reduced visibility along the affected stretch.
The Fire Brigade were dispatched to the scene, supported by officers from the Arona Local Police, the Guardia Civil, and road maintenance teams from the Cabildo of Tenerife, who focused on controlling the blaze and ensuring the safe flow of traffic.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or damage to property beyond the affected vegetation.
