The water supply to thousands of properties will be temporarily cut in the San Eugenio area of Adeje tomorrow, Monday, due to improvement works on the water distribution network, the local council has confirmed.

The interruption will take place between 7.30am and 12.30pm and is necessary to carry out maintenance and upgrade work on the supply system.

The work will be carried out by Entemanser, the company responsible for managing Adeje’s water service. Several streets in and around San Eugenio may be affected, including Calle Finlandia, Avenida Europa, Avenida Francia, Alemania, Avenida Austria, Pasaje de Austria, Calle Portugal, Calle Italia, Calle Irlanda, Calle Dinamarca, Calle Noruega and Calle Países Bajos.

Why the cut is needed

According to the council, the work forms part of ongoing efforts to provide a more efficient and secure water supply. The improvements require the San Eugenio water tank to be temporarily closed and the network to be emptied, which explains the length of the shutdown.

If no technical problems arise, the work could be completed earlier than planned.

Advice for residents and visitors

Adeje Town Hall and Entemanser have apologised for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their understanding.

People living or staying in the affected area are advised to take precautions and store enough water in advance to cover the outage period.
