The Guardia Civil has shared a video showing one of their agents patrolling the Teide National Park on skis, after they announced that the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM) will intensify surveillance due to the snowfall in the last few days.
Yesterday the Cabildo de Tenerife ordered the opening of the access roads of the TF-38 through Chío up to the area of the cable car. Currently there are agents on patrol in high mountain areas and those with difficult access, in case of any accident, rescue, or incident of any kind that they have to attend to, as well as the conservation and protection of the environment.
They are also taking into account that Las Cañadas del Teide is expecting a large influx of people to experience the snow, so GREIM agents are continuously carrying out reconnaissance and surveillance services in these areas, prepared with the materials they need to be able to access the most inaccessible areas if necessary.
