A fire in the Taco area of Tenerife has left six vehicles burned out and two large rubbish containers completely destroyed, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred last night (Friday) along the Carretera del Rosario, sparking considerable concern among residents due to the intensity of the flames and the thick column of smoke that was visible from various points across the town.
Initial reports suggest that the fire began in one of the rubbish containers before spreading to the parked cars nearby. The speed with which the flames took hold resulted in significant damage before the fire brigade could bring the situation under control.
Firefighters and the Local Police rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze and cordon off the area to ensure public safety. Forensic Police specialists have also launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, which is believed to be arson.
Sources close to the investigation have indicated that two individuals may be linked to the incident, though this has yet to be officially confirmed.
Once the fire was extinguished, the charred vehicles were removed from the street, and municipal teams began cleaning and clearing the affected section of road. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, but the incident has left locals worried due to the ferocity of the flames and the speed at which the fire spread.
