A 33-year-old woman was rescued by the GES emergency helicopter yesterday (Friday), after suffering a fall while paragliding in the Barranco de Taucho area of Adeje in the south of Tenerife.
The incident occurred at the paragliding launch site and prompted an immediate emergency response.
The Canary Islands Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received the alert at 2:20pm, reporting the need for urgent medical assistance for the injured paraglider.
The helicopter arrived promptly at the location given, where the crew winched her onboard before flying her to safety of the helipad at the Adeje fire station.
Medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) were waiting at the helipad and provided initial medical care before taking her to Hospiten Sur Hospital for further treatment.
The swift response of the emergency services highlights the preparedness and coordination of rescue teams in handling incidents of this nature.
