A 52-year-old woman was rescued by a helicopter this morning (Wednesday) after suffering an injury from a fall in Las Cañadas del Teide, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The 112 emergency services received a call at around 10:00am this morning, alerting them that a hiker required medical assistance near the Pico Viejo viewpoint, within the National Park.
A GES helicopter was dispatched to the location given to recover the injured woman and airlifted her onto the aircraft before flying her to the Tenerife North Airport, where she was met by SUC paramedics who treated her at the airport helipad.
After assessing her injuries, they then took her to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria by ambulance for further treatment to her leg which she hurt in the incident.
