VIDEO: Huge fire close to hotel in Ten Bel in the south of Tenerife

Various security and emergency resources were activated last night by the Emergency Services Co-ordination Centre, after the old entertainment venues next to the Alborada Beach Club hotel in Ten Bel in the south of Tenerife caught fire.

CECOES received an alert just before 1:00am this morning that the buildings that used to house the La Ballena party room and restaurant were a blaze, so dispatched the relevant emergency resources.

Firefighters from San Miguel, Adeje, and Guía de Isora battled the flames for five hours due to the size of the fire and the building that was burning, to prevent them from spreading to the hotel before finally getting them under control at six o’clock this morning.

The Arona Local Police and Guardia Civil were also sent to the site, to control any traffic and to open an investigation into the cause of the fire. According to CECOES, no one was injured in the blaze.

This is the second fire in recent months in the old tourist resort in the South of Tenerife, after the flames destroyed part of the main park last summer.
