A hiker was rescued on Wednesday after suffering a fall in a remote and hard-to-reach area of Los Gigantes, within the municipality of Santiago del Teide. The incident, which required the intervention of an emergency helicopter, was reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The Government of the Canary Islands confirmed that the GES emergency helicopter was deployed to retrieve the injured hiker, who had sustained minor injuries and was successfully extracted from the rugged terrain.
Following the rescue operation, medical staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) transported the hiker to a nearby healthcare facility for further assessment and treatment.
