Firefighters were called to the Tenerife royal Gardens complex last night (Monday), after receiving an alert from the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) informing them of a fire in the kitchen of one of the restaurants in the complex.
According to CECOES, the incident happened at around 7:00pm last night when the fire Brigades from Adeje and San Miguel were dispatched to the complex on Calle Luis Díaz de Losada just off the ‘golden mile’ in Las Americas.
Upon arrival, the firefighters found no visible flames from the exterior, however, upon entering the premises, they identified active fire sources affecting the kitchen and chimneys which could be seen on the roof of the building from outside.
They promptly extinguished the flames, preventing further damage, cooled down hot spots, and facilitated smoke extraction to secure the area.
Local police also attended the scene and prevented anyone from re-entering the building until it was deemed safe to do so.
