Two tourists badly injured in a quad accident in Tenerife

Two people have been injured, one of them seriously, in a quad accident in Tenerife, near the Las Lajas barbeque area, in the municipality of Vilaflor.

The accident occurred just after 4:00pm when the quad left the road and plunged down a vertical four-metre drop onto rocks, as reported by the emergency services (CECOES).

The two passengers, a 29-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man both of French nationality had to be rescued by firefighters as medical personnel couldn’t reach them before they could be treated.

Both had serious injuries sustained in the accident and once stabilised were transferred to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital for further treatment.
