Two people injured after head-on crash in Santiago del Teide
A man and a woman have been taken to hospital with moderate injuries after a serious head-on collision just after 7:20am this morning (Monday) in Santiago del Teide, according to reports from CECOES.
The crash happened at kilometre 2 on the TF-454, and the impact was so strong that one of the victims became trapped inside their car.
Firefighters were quickly on the scene, securing both vehicles and cutting the woman free from the wreckage. SUC paramedics treated her for a chest injury before taking her to Hospital del Sur de Tenerife.
The man involved in the collision suffered a head injury and several bruises. After being stabilised at the scene, he was transferred to Hospital Quirón Costa Adeje for further checks.
Traffic was disrupted while Policía Local de Santiago del Teide helped manage the area and crews cleared the road. Officers from the Guardia Civil are now investigating what caused the head-on crash on this busy route in the south of Tenerife.
