Two people have been found dead this morning (Friday) in the Pico Viejo area of Teide National Park. The Guardia Civil has opened an investigation to identify the bodies, which do not show signs of violence, bodies and clarify the cause of the deaths.
According to the Efe news agency, sources close to the investigation are working on the hypothesis that they are two hikers who have suffered an accidental death, either due to a fall or hypothermia.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert informing of the discovery around 10:00am this morning and dispatched the fire brigade to recover the bodies, a GES helicopter and the Guardia Civil to the location given by the member of the public who discovered them.
