Two buses collided on Thursday evening at the Costa Adeje bus station in Playa Las Americas, leaving one with a shattered window and passengers with what they described as a “big scare”, though fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
The incident occurred at around 7:50pm, when buses on lines 467 and 418 were both departing the station at the same time. A video shared on TikTok captured the aftermath, showing significant damage to the side of the 418 bus, including a broken window, while the 467 sustained only a minor scrape to its rear.
Witnesses explained that the collision happened just as one of the buses began reversing to exit the terminal. “There were no injuries, but everyone on board got quite a fright,” said a passenger who was on the 418, which suffered the worst of the damage.
Although no one required medical attention, shards of glass did fall on one young man, who was fortunately able to simply brush them off.
“The 418 was almost empty — thank goodness,” added another passenger, relieved that the incident did not result in more serious consequences.
Local authorities have not released an official report, but operations at the station quickly returned to normal after the incident.
