Two Brits arrested in Tenerife after police raid large marijuana plantation

The Guardia Civil have arrested two people, of English nationality, after they discovered a large marijuana plantation in Guía de Isora in the south of Tenerife with 236 marijuana plants growing, all the equipment needed to package the drugs for sale, 2kg of marijuana buds ready to sell, and various pills.

The investigation began after the Guardia Civil were informed of the plantation by locals in the area, and they obtained a search warrant from the judicial authorities to enter the property.

During the search of the home and the land, they found 131 doses of drugs with the active ingredient Sildenafil, which are prescribed by doctors to treat erectile dysfunction, but its misuse as a sexual enhancer is common and 2kg of marijuana buds ready for distribution.

In total, 236 marijuana plants were seized as well as various materials for the production and growth of the plants. The two British residents of the island have been placed at the disposal of Court number 3 of Arona awaiting charges.

The investigation, carried out by the Main Post of the Guardia Civil in Guía de Isora, was within the framework of the fight against the production, distribution and sale of cannabis in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
