The Canary Islands are finally being affected by a front associated with a storm forming in the Atlantic, which is causing heavy rain, wind and electrical storms in the western islands of Tenerife, La Palma and El Hierro, and adverse weather in Gran Canaria.

Although it has arrived a couple of days later than predicted in the main tourist areas in the south of Tenerife, thunder, lightning and rain have come with force across the island.
