Two women and a 3-year-old child were injured in a car accident in the south of Tenerife last night (Tuesday), after a collision between two vehicles as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
According to CECOES, the incident occurred at 10:17pm on the TF-28 road, on the ascent from Los Cristianos to Valle San Lorenzo, in the municipality of Arona.
Firefighters were dispatched to the location given and successfully extracted the driver who was trapped in one of the cars, and a backseat passenger from the other.
Medical personnel had to attend to two women, one of whom had a moderate head injury (cranial trauma) and was taken by ambulance to the Hospital del Sur for further treatment, while the second suffered moderate thoracic trauma and cervicalgia and was transferred to the Hospital Quirón Costa Adeje in San Eugenio.
The SUC team also assisted a 3-year-old child, who also had a moderate head injury, and was subsequently transferred to the Hospital del Sur in a specialised SUC ambulance.
The resolution of the incident involved the collaboration of road service personnel and officers from the Guardia Civil, who are conducting the corresponding investigation into the cause of the accident.
