Three arrested for the murder of Laura Gastón, woman found dismembered in Tenerife

The Guardia Civil have arrested three people in connection with the disappearance and murder of a Belgian couple living in Callao Salvaje in the south of Tenerife earlier this year.

According to a report by Mirame TV, they are specifically linked to the murder of Laura Gastón, aged 66, and the disappearance of her husband, Marc Francis, aged 71, who were reported missing in April by SOS Desaparecidos.

Laura Gastón's body was discovered floating off the east coast of Tenerife near Arico by a fisherman on April 27th. An autopsy confirmed her death was violent, revealing her body had been dismembered, as she was missing one hand and both legs, and her head was covered with a plastic bag.

Marc Francis has still not been found and the investigation is still ongoing into his whereabouts. There were reports in Belgium that a car was allegedly found in the sea, close to where Laura’s body was found, with a body in it that could be him, but these remain unconfirmed by investigators.

Two of the arrests took place in Belgium, while the third is in Tenerife, but at the moment there are limited details as this is part of an ongoing investigation, pending the conclusion of inquiries and the extradition of the detainees, overseen by the Arona Courts which has declared the proceedings confidential.

The Guardia Civil 's investigation has been conducted with the cooperation of the Belgian Federal Police.
