Three people have been arrested following a series of burglaries targeting homes in the south of Tenerife, where thieves stole cash, phones and even kitchen knives.

The Guardia Civil confirmed that two men and a woman, aged 46, 32 and 31, have been detained in connection with the incidents. All three are residents of Los Abrigos and Costa del Silencio.

The investigation began after several victims reported break-ins carried out in a similar way. In each case, the suspects gained entry by forcing a window before searching the property for valuables.

Among the items stolen were around €1,800 in cash, watches, mobile phones and professional kitchen equipment, with the total value estimated at more than €3,000.

Officers believe the group used a stolen car to carry out the crimes. A key development came when a woman linked to one of the suspects was stopped while driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen, which investigators say was used during the burglaries.

Following two separate investigations led by officers based in Playa de las Américas, the suspects were identified and arrested. Some of the stolen items have since been recovered.

The three individuals have now been handed over to the courts as the case proceeds.
